enjoyed grabbing a 12 pack from the gas station, then walking to the Quarter. By the time we got there, we were ready to go.

it's like 5 blocks. You drank a 6 pack in 5 blocks?

ETA: ok, maybe it's a little more than 5 blocks, but it's not that far

I'm paying $1900 for a 1 bedroom in Houston right now
Me and my wife rented a nice 1 bedroom in Lakeview with a big fenced yard and two car driveway for $1500 last year. You do need to move

In ~2010, I was paying $1260 for an awesome place on the corner of Julia/Tchoup. Was on the 4th floor with huge windows facing the CBD. They could probably get around $2k/month now, though I believe it was sold soon after I moved out. It was on the market for~$170k, parking spot included.

Ya, I bought a house last year uptown. I'm sure I bought at the height of the market. I feel like my birth year (1985) is just poorly timed for every thing.

Jesus christ. I have a 2 br 1300 sqft in nashville for 1475

It is a nice place and 975 sq ft, but it kills me a little bit each month to pay that

My wife loves it though, and we're a block from all the bars.

Still, we had an opportunity come up in Nola...

Ya, that was the set up. My room didn't even have doors on it. Just these massive panels on sliders. Room overlooked downtown and we had roof access to grill. Was pretty cool but if I was alone, way too rich for my blood.

Well that is the reason I thought the rent was so much higher.

I was being sarcastic. Lakeview and Uptown, places are going for above value on the day they are on the market. We sold our condo in Lakeview the day we put it on sale for above what we were asking.

Its absurd.
