The old Ray's couple had a place out on Sunset Highway. They retired and got bored, so they opened it. Not sure if still open.

Speaking of the Big O, Soileau's Supper Club has one of the best sauces for fried shrimp I have ever had.

If you're willing to make a road trip to a tiny town about 30 minutes north, there's a place called The Little Big Cup in Arnaudville,LA. On Sundays they serve a breakfast boucherie buffet with food that tastes home cooked on it. Normal breakfast foods, pork stew, grits and griods, boudin, jambalaya, etc. All you can eat for $14.

Outstanding. Hard to believe its in Arnaudville. I think the owner is the son of the guy who owns the grocery store there. Really good. And the waitstaff on a slow day will tell you St. Landry Parish stories that will make reality TV look like a PBS documentary by comparison. Excellent call.

I'd go as far as to say I prefer their Sunday brunch over The Blue Dog one.

That's how good that pork steak is. It compels comment from even the most taciturn. You can't help but sing its praises. It is a glory, a road to Damascus experience.
