I recently accepted a job in BR and was wondering if you guys could give me a reccomendation for decent places to live. Mid-late 20s, male, single, not huge on bar scene, would like somewhere at least kind of quiet with relatively quick access to I-10 or I-110. Tops I can do on rent per month is about $1000. TIA

Wanna move in with me? Guy I live with is moving out since he's been commuting to kenner everyday for the past three months. I live in midcity, very easy access to both I-10 and 110, the area is much quieter than near campus.

ETA: Area is mid twenties, early thirties near radio bar. Rent is $850 for a two bedroom house with yard, driveway, washer/dryer, etc. just in case you get quoted something much higher

I'd go to one of the new neighborhoods out along the Loop.

It's amazing how the construction of the new roadway has spurred development along with solving the traffic issues.

That's some forward-looking City/Parish Fathers at work right there folks.

ETA: Alt. Answer- Prayers sent

It is probably best to do like everyone else who works in Baton Rouge, move to West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston.... Even Iberville (East part of the river) Parish.

Yeah, because everyone knows all the best neighborhoods are along the interstate. Loop people

Where are you going to work?

If you don't have kids and aren't worried about schools at this point in your life, I'd avoid the I-10 commute if possible.
