I think, anecdotally, that Shreveport people are more likely to leave for DFW/OKC/MSY/LAF if the need arises, whereas Lafayette folk would rather work a $16k a year job at Applebees than be moved away from their family.
It doesn't take a lot to convince someone from S. Arkansas to leave I-20, therefore they have to pay more to keep them around.

Along the lake spottyness but old dilapidated
Old Metairie road ring doorbells galore and multi camera systems. Clear view and Causeway....neck tat utopia.

There are pretty many ghetto and run down sections. Lots of old and dilapidated, too.
And I’m not sure if causeway and Clearview is the neck tat utopia - ever been on Cameron St in Lafayette, or the mall of Acadians?
