It is 12 below right now on its way to 25 below. The best part is the boiling water into thin air trick worked perfectly half an hour ago. If I can figure out how to film if and post it, will do so tomorrow. The governor closed schools tomorrow- I'll enlist my kids.

It is hilarious- it vaporizes instantly. I need to get my kids in the yard (they won't do it) wearing cheesy wizard costumes, and I'll throw the boiling water and they revel in the smoke and defeat me with cardboard swords.

Weird, I didn't realize Minnesota also legalized weed.

because they would rather harsh winters than 100 degree summers

there's only 2-3 arctic outbreaks a year. Nothing like 95-100 degrees every day.

Opposite of the South. My parents are considering moving to Colorado in 3 years when my dad retires as they are beyond tired of the humidity which plays hell with my moms COPD.

ETA: plus even the old, grizzled guys are saying this isn't normal. More like once every 20 years type of horrible

September and October were fantastic. Highs in the mid 60s to 70s

Yeah but with hot summers you can stay inside in the ac, sit in the shade, hang out by a pool to cool off, drink margaritas on a patio with misters on.

Give me hot summers (in a place with low humidity of course)anyday over extreme cold.

I can still drive normally to places when it's hot. I know any flights I take won't be delayed cause of the heat.

You can still do all kinds of shite outside when it's hot. And quickly do lots too cool down.

Sub zero weather is brutal, and although it's much less frequent, it is much more dominating.

You ever experience 95-100 someplace with a dry heat?

Really isn't that bad at all.

I guess it's just because I'm used to it but I'd much rather 6 months of 100 degrees than even one month of temps in the negatives

Plus there's no way in hell I'm getting on a golf course in anything below 40

There aren't many places that experience this. Hell, even in Ak most of the highly populated areas don't get a month of sub zero weather.

Most places in the lower 48, you get a few cold fronts every year that make it very cold. The average highs/lows aren't extreme.
