Also, there is no pitcher's mound in softball like it is in baseball. Softball only has a pitching circle that is level with the rest of the infield.

To add to that, many-most really-softball fields have an all dirt infield.

Could you imagine if we had to tear down Alex Box because it is nicer than our softball stadium.

Why do you think we had to build such a nice softball stadium?

I like the fact that it was handled by the DOE's Civil Rights Division.

I imagine the handicap accessible has more to do with this.

Don't give people ideas.

This whole "you can't have what you've worked hard for because I don't have it and it's not fair" has got to stop.

Not really. School boards all over the country make stupid decisions. This one happened because parents complained because their daughter didn't get her way, which also happens all over the country.

Everyone wants to pick up on the rhetoric, because it fits their narrative. No one wants to acknowledge the only briefly mentioned ADA violation.

If the bleachers were not ADA compliant, then the school faced a much different liability that was wholly different than Title IX.

Who's to say the new bleachers were better? Some people may have found the seats uncomfortable. Hell they aren't even handicap accessible. If the girls bleachers are so shitty that they're worse than non handicapped compliance bleachers they need to be torn down.

This is what I'd be saying if I was a parent on the team.

There's a big difference between "put in a ramp" and "tear those down".

I was just shocked to find out that there was an office for civil rights in the Department of Education. I wonder how many millions of taxpayer money goes to that?

Who knows? This is the same law that ends up with banks having braille instructions for blind customers on drive thru atm's.

Our HS baseball team plays in an old AA stadium that is 10x nicer than the girls shitty softball field. This is a complete joke.

This is what happens when we let our gov't become the fat blob of a monster it is right now.

It's bad enough that the Dept of Education exists, it actually has a civil rights division.
