Every thread? Prove to the board by linking just 5 posts where I have slammed a place as being trashy. You said every thread. Show me 5. Should be easy.

Have you been to the new LeBlanc? We were at the one in Cancun 2 years ago and it's top notch. We are going to the new one in Cabo next year.

We are planning a trip to Riviera Maya in a couple of months. Not really looking for anything but relaxation. Everybody I've talked to says it's really nice there.

Has anybody here stayed in that area?

Nice area for relaxing. Very low key. Was at the Fairmont Mayakoba recently. If you are a golfer, the golf course there is great.

We went to Cabo last year, and followed some of your advice. Had a blast! We fished, drank, walked around town and never felt unsafe.

I live in Mexico City for about 5 mths and had no trouble. The only issue I had was when we went to Acapulco and got shaken down by some "cops" for $40. Other than that every time I have gone has been a great experience.

Weed is the big chunk of their business and funds their hard drug operations. Weed is their most profitable operation as well. If they shotgun a bunch of weed over the line and half of it gets seized, they still make money. You can't take hits like that with heroin, coke, or meth amd still continue to make money.

How do you figure? They sell arse weed.

Plus cocaine is cheap as shite to the cartels. The cost of it is built into the risk of trafficking it to the states

quote:

According to figures from the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime, coca farmers in Colombia receive $1.30 for each kilogram of fresh coca leaf. In Peru and Bolivia, where the leaf is air-dried before being sold, farmers receive $3.00 per kilogram. For the fresh leaf used in processing in Colombia, it takes somewhere between 450 and 600 kilograms of coca leaf to produce 1 kilogram of cocaine base, depending on the variety of coca plant used (some varieties have a higher cocaine alkaloid content). At $1.30 per kilogram, this means that it costs somewhere between $585 and $780 to purchase the coca leaf required to produce one kilogram of cocaine base. One kilogram of cocaine base can then be converted into roughly one kilogram of cocaine hydrochloride, which is commonly referred to as cocaine.

I'm not so sure. You have to be careful in Jamaica and being alone there isn't the best idea.

How cute - a financial pissing contest. If I was still 10 I'd throw down the trump card, but alas, situations change...

I know some locals that are gonna be taking care of me. The resorts are complete horse shite! There is a lot of fear mongering that takes place. White people are actually safer than anyone else on the island. The resorts and the locals do not want to lose tourists and they don't put up with bullshite. Now... I'm sure , like anywhere else, if you want to find trouble, you can find it.

It's different if you know people there. If not, it's not such a great idea.
