So none of you morons are going to give a cool comment about the possibility of the cops killing them and covering it up?

There's not point in speculating anything. Just not enough info to have any idea what happened.

The story just sounds fishy to me. Have to wait until the police make a statement to really know anything.

This is actually a couple of blocks away from my uncle's in-laws. The dad definitely would've noticed something if there were gunshots to be heard. My uncle talked to him and he said he didn't hear a damn thing.

Maybe a closed door thing? I am guessing JPSO is treading lightly and might suspect the mom. Very odd indeed.

Also, unless the gun was tampered with, it would be obvious if it were a murder/suicide

WVUE (the article I read) makes no mention of her saying anything about gun shots. If YOU hear gunshots and glass breaking, which of those two sounds would you report first as being unusual?

It is strange, because none of the neighbors heard Gunshots according to facebook. So, guns were definitely used, so maybe suppressed? I don't know. Both dead too. Just strange.
But there just isn't enough evidence out to really understand what went on.

The supposed time is just before midnight. Unless I was awake, I wouldn't hear a gunshot inside of a different house.

That's a nice neighborhood.

Looked up the kid on FB, I actually have a few friends in common with him. Sad.

If the gunshots were inside a house, within a block, I would be able to distinguish it inside my house. Within two, 50/50 chance. Further is a toss up. If I was outside, I could probably hear it a half mile away.

If you've shot enough, it is easy to pick out shotgun/rifle/pistol, and large caliber differences. I mean, I can tell you what type of gun it is within a second. Caliber takes thought though.

With a good suppressor, you could barely hear it next door.

I thought of something this morning......maybe the mom took sleeping meds and the gunshots woke her up, and she only heard the glass breaking?

Authorities said the shooting deaths of a Metairie father and son Wednesday night are not being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Which explains why JPSO was searching the canal earlier today.

Investigators have not identified any suspects or released a motive in the killings.

So the dad didn't even get out of his chair? I don't know many people around here that leave their doors unlocked at night

Yeah, I have a few mutual friends with the son. Lots of people on Facebook expressing grief over it. What a strange and sad story.

This is several blocks from my house as well. I saw police looking in the canal on West Esplanade this morning, but didn't know this had happened. I assume they were looking for a weapon.

You can distinguish a gunshot in your sleep from a house that you aren't in? I'm not really sure why I've gotten two downvotes, gun shots just aren't that loud if you're not close to the gun. It's highly unlikely it would wake you up.

Just curious how many time you have tested this hypothesis? You e state it so emphatically it must have been repeatedly tested to increase your confidence level.

Yep. Some idiots in here. Or people with improperly sealed houses.

I agree with traffic, wind, weather, AC, fans, TV, or being asleep. You aren't going to hear much. And if I did hear a gunshot type sound, I would never think gunshot in my neighborhood

They're looking for Nutria Pelts, Harry Lee's bounty is still in effect.
