In a more civil thread what are your thoughts on mental health in America? What are problems you see and problems you don't see getting fixed? How has mental health affected you and the law?

boosiebadass and chitiger91 are defiantly looking to here from

Maybe you should learn how to spell and use proper grammar before opening up a business.

Mental health workers are the mechanics of the brain.

To answer this question, we must first ask the question "what is mental health?". Is mental health a matter of science that we can discover in a black hole with our telescopes and computers? Or is mental health something that we must look inward to find? Many have weighed in on this important subject from Freud to Columbus and while they may disagree, they all say the same things about the importance of and need for mental health. So, in closing, mental health is something that we all must work towards and cannot be forgotten about.

Thoughts on mental health?

I think you’re all fricked in the head. We’re ten hours from the fricking fun park and you want to bail out. Well I’ll tell you something. This is no longer a vacation. It’s a quest. It’s a quest for fun. I’m gonna have fun and you’re gonna have fun. We’re all gonna have so much fricking fun we’ll need plastic surgery to remove our goddamn smiles. You’ll be whistling ‘Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah’ out of you’re assholes! I gotta be crazy! I’m on a pilgrimage to see a moose. Praise Marty Moose! Holy shite!

My wife is a counselor in the mental health field. She would say it is completely under-served. There are a large number of inmates in correctional facilities that wouldn't be there if they had proper mental health treatment, or should be placed in a mental health facility to obtain care.

It should be more readily available especially for the class of people who have obvious problems, however lack the access and financial ability to obtain care. The part that doesn't seem to be fixed is patient compliance to follow the regimens that would help them the most.

Way under funded. I work with probate court on involuntary commitments, I'm the guy who "gets" to go pick these folks up (against their will) from their home and take them to the hospital. It's a revolving door of commitment, group home, release, and jail.

I'm so fricking confused as to what is going on, but I'd really like to know. Walrus is trying to save you on the help board. You're calling out people saying you need help finding them. You've got a few topics on Money Talk asking for ways to start a mental health business.

AHHHH, fill me in!

Slackster not trying to call people out, trying to gain insight from different experiences.

I am trying to create a mental health company, but not sure if some of the issues with mental health can ever be solved. The biggest issues I see with mental health are people who need it the most asking for help and the law neglecting it.

I am using this and a few other resources as a brainstorming board to figure out what I am capable of doing. I am creating something for a detective and a lawyer to experiment on and trying to sell it if it works.

I feel like the biggest issue is that there are many people who are mentally unstable and don't realize it.
