I’ve lived in BR and Nola and worked in even bigger dumps

That walk to rendezvous was scary

BBQ was okay, enjoyed the brewery near it

the dark alley you have to pass to get there isn't very inviting is it?

Most of North Chicago is really nice. South Chicago is a legit warzone though.

The West Side is just as bad or worse, especially since it encroaches toward the Loop. At least the South Side sort of has a buffer from Bridgeport to Hyde Park.

If it's just murderers killing other potential murderers, is there any loss? If they're Thanos-ing the worst of the worst out there, is it something we really even WANT to interrupt?

Collierville

I went up last August for BBQ, and stayed by Wyndyke. I hadn't been there since spring of '00. Was amazed how much Collierville had grown. Especially from when I moved there in the late 80's.

Memphis ain't scary

I was walking near Beale St. in Memphis and had a black woman stop her car near the intersection telling me it wasn't safe to be where I was. I carry a Glock 26 with two G15 mags everywhere I go in Memphis. My fiancée works at UTHSC, shootings have happened just the next street over. Memphis is worse than Shreveport by a significant margin.

It's not like random whites are being gunned down in East Memphis.

Is that a joke? Liza Fletcher and Glenn Cofield?

Agreed. Let them keep taking one another out.

Except for the innocent bystanders getting killed by stray bullets. I'm sure a 9 year old is in that "worst-of-the-worst" catergory your malfunctioning brain is imagining.

Yep ... same here. Still have family living there. It was a once great All-American City .... then it took a nose dive in '68.

It's ruined now, for obvious reasons, never to return to its glory days.

At least Detroit is trying.

And Memphis' cancer is spilling over into Southaven and Olive Branch. It's just a matter of time. Maywood Lake looks like the Amazon River anymore in the summertime.

The only time I really felt unsafe was driving through the ghetto to get to Tunica. But I avoided even going to places like Kroger past dark.
