Maybe it is, but you could look a post above yours learn about vaccination rates rather than just "booking it."

Not to mention immigration has decreased recently.

So I have a feeling your book does not have a lot of facts.

So what happens if you've been vaccinated and you still get them?

Let's pretend I know nothing ab the measles, because I don't. Hell I wasnt even sure how to spell it.

ETA I know I'm on page three, I'll start reading the thread as I'm sure this has been answered.

You are HIGHLY contagious to others and should not be out in public. AT ALL.

If you think you have them you should NOT be going to an urgent care or ER or doctor's office either and possibly expose numerous others to it. You would call your doctor and go from there.

I think it is more likely to be less severe and shorter in duration.

It's cute you that you think I'm actually going to read whatever you linked when you're already here to answer all my questions.

Well according to the WHO, Honduras and Guatemala had vaccination rate of 99 in 2015 for Measles Containing Vaccination 1 (MCV1) while we had a rate of 92.

How in the hell is this possible?

99% of Honduras and Guatemala get the damn vaccination while 8% of Americans are fricking taking medical advice from a playboy centerfold.

No lie I kept looking at the autocorrect suggestions and said frick it, hit the back button to see how it was spelled in the OP, then swiped forward to go and spell it correctly.

I'm just a peds nurse Wafer.

The link is just more info on the measles. Considering you guys have a little one under 5 at home...this is something you should pay attention to.

Most of the deaths of children with the measles were those under 5 years old.

Yeah I can imagine. Now that you mention it I'm not sure if I've been typing measles or measels and just letting autocorrect do its thing.

I skimmed it actually. She's already had round one of her vaccinations.

Of course she has. You are a good daddy

Btw...this isn't anything you need to be freaked out over...but something to just be alerted to.

I'm not freaked out at all, just made me realize I knew nothing about the measles (including the whole spelling issue).

Most people wouldn't because if you get a fever and a rash, the last think you'd think is measles, and rightfully so. There have been fewer than 220 cases in 5 of the last 6 years. In 2012 there were 55 cases and in 2014 there were 667 cases. To give you some perspective, there were 293 cases of quadruplets or higher in 2014, so it is pretty damn rare to say the least.
