Believe it's Thailand and Vietnam where they not only eat dogs and cats, but can pick out the very one they want to eat at a restaurant....while it's still alive in a cage

That idea is pretty common in asia. I've been in restaurants in Taiwan and Korea etc, where you can pick out the specific fish you want to eat, from the tank. They pull it out, filet it, cook it and serve it within about 20 minutes. Tank to plate.

Had not heard of that with dogs, but it makes sense.

Someone should peek into the kitchen just to make sure that sushi chef isn't wanted for murder.

as an aside, I used to fish with a gourmet chef when I lived in FL, and anytime we'd catch a blackfin, he'd start fileting it as soon as we got it on the boat, and he'd pass around slivers of that while the fish was still alive, and it was pretty tasty

In Costa Rica, a fishing guide started fileting black fin tuna as soon as it came out of the water. Still alive tuna wiht fresh pineapple juice squeezed on top was awesome. But that frog thing is still wierd.

My parents have been to China twice. Live lobster on the table is a speciality that was served to them on both trips.
