Ever seen a bear eat live salmon? Basically the same thing. I can see why most would not want to eat a live fish or frog, but I don't think there is anything unethical about it.

Did anyone watch the video? They kill the frog immediately.....why is there any outrage? This is weird, but it's not animal cruelty.

Not really at all. In any way. One is a simple act of nature. The other is intentionally putting an animal in pain. It's excess and unnecessary.

There is something else I saw once that's similar that I'm actually ok with.In Thailand, they chop the head off the snake (killing it instantly) and then immediately cutting out the heart to eat while it's still beating.

lol wut?

yea they kill it immediately. that's why it's still blinking and trying to escape the plate after it's brought to the table.

I don't give a frick about the ethics of eating a live frog, but don't be an idiot (even though I know it's hard for you)

who cares. Raw oysters are still alive when we eat them.

I don't see the problem with this, have you ever picked a lobster or fish out of a tank and let the chef prepare it or even ordering live catfish from Tony's and them dressing it for you?

You think thats the same as picking out a live caged cat or dog to eat for dinner?

If I saw that in person, I free those motherfrickers.

I don't give a frick about the frog, but come on man.

A bear in the wild catching a wild salmon with his mouth in a river is not the same as a human grabbing a caged frog, cutting it in half, and searing it so it stays alive on the plate.

there's a sushi bar in the Condado Plaza in San Juan that does this, the fish tank is in the dining room, and they pull the fish out and cut up right in front of you as you order, yummm

as an aside, I used to fish with a gourmet chef when I lived in FL, and anytime we'd catch a blackfin, he'd start fileting it as soon as we got it on the boat, and he'd pass around slivers of that while the fish was still alive, and it was pretty tasty

yea, I've participated in eating samples of live fish parts and other fresh caught parts and its a different situation when Hunting\fishing with an expert in the wild than getting all dolled up and going to an air conditioned building to recreate the experience...its not a pet peave, just not my cup of tea.
