quote:

the number of Americans who say they’re “very happy” in their marriages has fallen from 68 percent in the early 1970s to 60 percent. There are four types of people who tend to be happiest with the quality of their marriage: those who spend more time at religious centers, people with extreme political views (skewing to either spectrum), those who describe themselves as upper class—and men.

Sky is always bluer on the other side. With more technology today is gives people more access to see other sides.

That's probably a big factor. "Oh they look so happy and perfect on Instagram" " my life sucks".

I think it has to do more with self entitlement, ideals, and instant gratification of our society today.

Too many women surfing Instagram and Facebook for real. Everybody looks happy when they’re posting how much they love each other on social media. Then you find out that was their last attempt at keeping the marriage together

And I think social media just makes it even worse. Got to keep up with the Joneses who appear so happy on facebook when in reality that's just a facade.

And you beat me to it.

Well I'm not. I've almost been married 24 years, and I'm as happy as I've ever been.

You know what keeps a marriage together?

A stout chain sunk firmly into the wall.

I know she’ll never leave me.
