i'll be honest, i have several family members who serve/served and i truly appreciate what they do/did, but these guys just look like guys i would really not enjoy hanging around. i mean, did it really upset them that bad that some jackass was driving around with a flag upside down?

who really gives a shite? i guess everyone sort of seems like a douche in this video to me

Not saying they deserve it. I'm not shocked by the reaction and I do deem it funny.

I'm of the belief that the flag draggers have their rights and the flag usurpers had theirs. So let's let the courts decide. I'll not taking sides, but I hope the Judge is a Vet.

Haven't the courts already decided this issue?

I am for the 1st Amendment and they have a right to protest in this manner. But it doesn't physically stop you from an arse beating either.what the frick does this even mean?

I can't speak for the poster but I will break it down for you from my point of view as a U.S. Army Veteran. Yes they do have a right protest in any matter within the law. But its not the smartest thing disrespect and or destroy the very symbol of this freedom. Soldiers, Veterans and many patriotic Americans get highly offended by such actions. Many of us take is as a personal disrespect. Its as they are telling us that "your service" didn't matter. Its not about the piece of cloth its about what that piece of cloth represents. So you know what, if you want to tarnish it, spit on it, burn it or whatever go right ahead. Just be prepared to deal with the consequences. Because I can promise you and anyone else this. Absolutely no one, I don't care who they are will disrespect the flag in such a way in front of me.

I will also say. I have never been able to understand why someone would destroy or disrespect the flag in protest? You say its because you have the freedom to? SO you destroy the very symbol of the freedom that this country give you? yeah that makes fricking sense.

So how far would you take it? Fight the guy, stab him, destroy his property?

The most American thing we can do is burn the flag.

I understand they way you feel. I would prolly be the same. But understand that you should be fully prosecuted and charged if you break any laws.

Sometimes the men fighting for our country choose to fight for their fellow soldiers, which is fine. But, sometimes they forget WHAT they are supposed to be fighting for.

I applaud what they did, but the dialogue is typical Marine.

Didn't realize I was being "drama queen"-y about it, but whatever.

As a died in the wool Marxist/Commie/Liberal, I get a bit touchy about issues like this.

It was a "thing" for right wing nuts to display the U.S. Flag upside down after President Blackenstein was elected. Many on this forum supported those who did it.

How soon they forget. The flag upside down means distress. We saw a lot around here after Katrina. Even from this crazy POW guy down the street who flies like five flags, including marines and POW.

Yeh these so called right wing conservatives in here are sounding an awful lot like the left. " I support your rights and beliefs unless they are different than mine"
