You have to be invited and/or purchase tickets.

Metarie parades such as Krew of Centurion cost $110-$120 per ticket. Most balls are NOT free and require tickets.

Can a couple that isn't part of Krewe or a Mardi Gras society go to one of the balls or do you have to be invited by a couple who is a member?
If you weren't invited that would depress the other attendees

it would be a deflated ball

LOL..

What's funny? You already sell out of your Comus allotment? Think you can still get me a couple for Proteus? ETA, or should I check Ticket Exchange?

Correct. But the tickets aren't for sale to the general public. Typically the member can only buy them.

You can't buy tickets to Comus, Proteus, Rex, Momus or Mithras. You have to be a member or invited.

I walk right in to Comus every year. Nobody has ever asked me any questions.

I was a member of Crew of Columbus in Mobile for years. I prefer the balls in NOLA over Mobile. Quit the CoC because riding in CoC and Endymion was logistically difficult

Not sure if trolling or if it is just natural stupidity being displayed. I never stated it was available to the public although a member could provide tickets to nonmembers. Don't see the fun in that since they wouldn't know anyone likely.

Stating that tickets are available for purchase implies that they are available to the general public.

Good info but I need to know because I got asked to a ball in Mobile, the area of the original Mardi Gras but she isn't a member. I figured the ball etiquette between New Orleans and Mobile is probably pretty similar.

I live in Mobile and belong to one of the older MG societies. If someone asked me to a ball, I would assume they were giving me tix, unless they mention needing $ for them. In the one I am in, it is against the rules for us to take money for tix. As a member, you either invite someone and pay for their tix or you don't invite them. I know some other societies will let the guests pay for them, though.

Long story short... You need tix to get into the ball and only a member can get those for you.

Obviously can't comprehend either. Never stated tickets are available for purchase to the public. You are implying that because I stated tickets for the Krewe of Centurion cost $110-$210 that they are automatically available to the public. You assumed and you know what that means.

Try again

You know how I know you're catholic?

I would say OOM, KOR, IM are the top 3 to go to, but its all matter of what you're looking for in a ball/party.

Also, the MOMs ball is a shitload of fun if you like seeing a bunch of hot arse MILFs get knee-walking drunk and lose a lot of inhibitions.

CaptainPanic said the OP can buy tickets. That's false. You disagreed with my statement.
