Mardi Gras ball question...

Can a couple that isn't part of Krewe or a Mardi Gras society go to one of the balls or do you have to be invited by a couple who is a member? Just curious.

The general answer is yes. As long as they get you on the list and have an invitation sent out to you, etc.
Each club is different. A Low down Metairie krewe isn't going to have the exacting standards of Rex.

Good info but I need to know because I got asked to a ball in Mobile, the area of the original Mardi Gras but she isn't a member. I figured the ball etiquette between New Orleans and Mobile is probably pretty similar.

You can get into Comus if you slip the doorman a $10. I've done it.

My mom and dad are both in mobile krewe's. Each member gets a set number of tickets. Your lady friend got them from a member.
Which Krewe in Mobile? Also, tails are required in Mobile.

OP is also talking about Mobile which the krewe's don't sell tickets too...at least the ones worth a shite.
