I think he rejected her because she's ugly and an attention whore. Encapsulating all of his disgust for her in the word fat just ensured that she would STFU and leave so he wouldn't have to hear her shite like the internet is right now.

She really doesn't look fat at all from the pictures. She isn't very pretty either, but she isn't fat.
