So he was put on leave while they investigated the incident, and after a few hours he returned back to work.

Why not clean up the thread title dude?

Cause then it won't cause an emotional response.

What we have here is lower level management that are liberals getting overridden by upper level management conservatives.

Almost everything they sell requires some form of manual fricking labor. Screw Home Depot.

I would like to think that if we all hear someone screaming KIDNAPPING and we see someone walking away with a kid, we're gonna react the same way... now will the next guy be gun-shy and not react and what if it's an actual kidnapping. Home depot hates kids.

He was fired. He was only rehired after some backlash.
I don't have enough space in thread titles to fully clarify. Sorry.

Bunch of morons in here. The man was fired. Then home Depot back pedals when the story comes out. Learn to read.

Exactly, Home Depot only reneged when they say the bad press that would come. He never should have been fired.

So, common sense prevails and this is a non story?

More like fear of the PR nightmare prevails after it becomes a story. If it hadn't become a story then HD probably doesn't reverse its decision.

No, the man was terminated from the position, i.e. fired, then filed and was granted unemployment benefits, then was rehired by a backpedaling Home Depot when they realized it made them look bad.
