Any OT ers know if Madisonville will get a high school (in the near future) instead of splitting students between Covington HS and Mandeville HS?

There are about 13-14 classes of 28 students per grade in Madisonville and a ton of new houses being built daily, so the growth in grades K-6 is there and i am wondering about St. Tammany's plan for the future.

The rumor is one is being planned. Don't know the timetable though.

Any timeframe on this? My son starts Mandeville High next year. I'd hate for him to be forced to change schools his junior or senior year.

They could probably make a high school out of this closed behemoth.

I think it might be going somewhere around Lancaster Elementary.

Been waiting to see how this shakes out as well. We're zoned for Madisonville all the way until Covington High. Was hoping for a closer alternative and the talk seems to be headed that way.

Hannan looks like a great school but I can't quite justify it when the schools are so good here at the price tag.

Yes, I've heard Hannah is $10,000 per year.

Hope not, the guy that run it couldn't figure out what food was good even after all those chefs came in to revamp is menu, which stayed exactly the same.

Owner had it coming, not hard to pull a profit in that place. Just make decent drunk food. A decent plate of fish tacos could have saved him from bankruptcy. But overpriced bad food in a stellar location still won't pay the bills.

Friends was on another level of suck though. Just terrible every time, food and service.

There is a new place on the river called Coquille's River and Rye, it is where Hook'd Up was. They have a great bar/grill menu and are really just getting started. I've tried a lot of their food and it has all been good and served promptly.

I wouldn't blame him one bit. To operate a taco truck successfully, one has to sell a bunch of tacos. I can't imagine trying to keep a restaurant that big open in a town of 800 people...if that. They overbuilt.

That and they didn't expand the parking into the lot next door. Very ill-planned to say the least.

Fun fact. The new owners are also involved with Uncle Earl's and Driftwood Cask and Barrel in BR.

Correct. I used to work with one of the owners. Figured I would give their new Madisonville dive a shameless plug. They are good peoples.
