This is pathetic. LSU historically produced high numbers of officers serving during major conflicts. What a sad shame to see the school turn its back on a proud history. While we may never see thousands of students doing drills across campus anymore, LSU could do better.
In the meantime, I have little doubt there will be new positions and budgets expanded every year for diversity du jour programs and other areas the more correctly aligned with today's political climate.

Probably. The actual human cost of Sherman's famous march wasn't that bad when compared to the war's major battles. He did what he had to do.
