LSU tried to banned smoking in front of certain buildings a couple of years back. I believe they set up "smoking zones". Needless to say, it failed.

I have no clue how they work. I know there's a battery in there and some water and that's the extent of it.

adding that banning e-cigarettes from LSU’s campus will help keep them out of the hands of children at the University Laboratory School and LSU Day Care Center.

How are the infants gonna quit smoking?

I doubt it. She seems like the type of PhD who makes everyone call her "doctor."

Ohhhh. I thought this was some student organization doing this. Yeah I'm not surprised then.

I smoked for about 10 years....I've been clean for about 6 now....not a day goes by that I don't think about smoking. I've heard other smokers say the same.....it isn't surprising that some people break.

It gets better with time. I smoked from my early teens (mid-80's) until right after my son was. I think it was about 2002 when I quit. I was difficult for sure, especially at first, but now I never "miss" it at all. I'll still have the occasional cigar though. And by occasional I mean the last one was back in February while out at a bar with friends and the one before that was probably sometime last summer.

E-cigs don't have the really bad toxins that come from combustion in regular cigs. What we do know that they expose second hand people to nicotine at a dose of 10x less than that of regular cigs. This can cause some cells to respond very similarily to what causes cancer at this dose.

Perfume? Air freshener? Barbeque? Anything you can smell contains molecules going into your body.

If the smell of e-cig vapor is that offensive to you, then you are the bigger problem. Thanks, Oprah!

Hmmm. Interesting. This is the first I've heard of this. But like I said, I've not really spent any time studying them other than noticing some folks around my office who have them hanging around their neck all the time.

So are you saying the nicotine is what causes cancer? I ask because everything I've even seen says it's not the nicotine in tobacco that causes cancer, it's all the other bad chemicals. The nicotine is just addictive. At least that's what I've always heard.

Or you could just smoke (vap, whatever you call it) outside or in your own home. I guess that's asking for too much.
