If race should not play a factor in our society today [as I believe] then why do we still have scholarships based on race (e.g. diversity & minority scholarships)? Couldn't you argue that this continues to separate our society

Well, you, a white man, can go to Southern. Many whites go to Southern Law.
But, a black man can't join this fraternity with its new $6 million clubhouse on the LSU campus.

It helps equal out the blatant racism that still exists like in the LSU Greek system.

Forcing black and white culture together in every aspect of society isn't going to lessen racism any.
Besides, racism has been around as long as races have been around, especially by what society currently defines as racism. It won't ever go away unless races go away.

This, there is racism in animals...
But I dod think that LSU should include more minorities in Greek life, but having said that the point of greek life is to maintain traditions and what not.

black people will be accepted in most of the big frats at LSU(sans dke and ka) will happen sooner, rather than later but it needs to happen organically.
