He made it to the final round of rush, he wasn't given a bid.

..and this is something to be proud of?
We are almost not racists?

Cutting a black kid does not make them racist. Racist would be like Sig Ep at Ole Miss who put a noose around the statue of a black man on campus. Kappa Sig at LSU is one of the best chapters in the nation when it comes to distinguished alumini, they deserve this new house. I have personally donated some of my own money. Whenever I was in college the black fraternity next door would always come and play bball with us on out basketball court we were good friends with them.

I'm not racist.
I played pickup basketball with black guys!

I hope some of my alumni dues goes to building this house. I love to support brick and mortar racism

The only people who bitch about this are people who have some weird fascination with hating frat boys. They themselves wouldn't want to be in the fraternities anyway, and really there probably aren't many black dudes that really want to be in the white fraternities, but only people who want to see it happen to watch it fall apart. I don't understand it. I never really wanted to join a fraternity but I see nothing wrong with them and plenty of my friends were in them. I think this whole discussion is dumb.

I had no idea that John Havens (astros co-owner) was a gamma alum

This isn't 1955. There should just be frats.
I graduated form college about 40 years ago, I had no idea, and find it hard to believe a all white organization can still exist on a college campus. You would think a civil rights legal group would have already moved on this.

What about the all black frats? Not a whole lot of white dudes in them. I mean fair is fair, right? I would imagine where schools have all black frats, that's where most of the black dudes will pledge.
Also, there are many Kappa Sigma chapters with African Americans as actives.

This is to Traffic Circle jerk. I haven't been on campus in awhile but back in my day Alpha Phi Alpha had the house across from Fiji and behind Lam Chops on Old Row. I'm sure LSU made them pay millions of dollars for that house while all the "white boys" paid a buck.
How many white Q Dogs, KA¥ or APA do you know?
Private organizations allow members to pick and choose who gains membership. There were tons of white guys we cut because someone didn't like them or thought they wouldn't be a good member. We operated on a one ball system during rush. Didn't matter if 20 people liked the guy, one guy could cut him no questions asked.
In my years I only saw one black guy go through "white rush" and I knew him from the dorm the previous year. He was balled for being a huge dork not the color of his skin.
There is a reason there are soooo many fraternities on campus. It's not a one size fits all. If it was, then there would not be a need for more than one as that one could fit all needs and wants.
Troll away.

private organizations
It is not a private organization. It is being built on public property, under a lease from LSU. It is governed by, in part, LSU office of Greek Affairs.
What is the big problem with equality. You go to class with black people. There are black people in the dorms. You eat in the cafeteria with black people. Black teachers. Why not here?
It seems odd to me that after almost 100 years, Kappa Sigma at LSU has not found a reasonable number of black people to allow to join it's club. Why not? What's the problem? What is it that I am missing?

I'll tell you what you want to hear. Nobody wants them around. They don't fit in with the rest of the guys and it makes you look bad to the other fraternities. There you go.

Well, that's not nice at all.

Actually, it is a private organization.
Yes it is being built on public property but still a private organization.
The Catholic Church and Student Center as well as all other Churches on Campus are built on Public Property. So should the Catholic Church be forced to allow all students to receive the "Holy Eucharist" even though it is against their teachings?

Member Stanley Jacobs said he hopes it creates an “arms race” among the campus’ Greek system, encouraging the construction or renovation of other fraternity and sorority houses.
Arms Race? Like goddamn Cold War? Thought Frats are supposed to be fun not "Keeping up with the Joneses".

I don't know about the church thing. Seems like a good analogy.
Maybe I am wrong.
But I think that in today's age, there is no reason not to allow people of all color to participate in all of the Greek Fraternities and Sororities at LSU, not just certain ones. I know people say 'fit in,' character and all that.
But, when it gets down to it, we are all just people, white or black. I think its unfair to exclude people because they are black.
You can call me names, or whatever you want to do, its just what I think is right and good. I can live with myself and these beliefs.

My second response to this same post.
Do you actually think that black people have been trying to join KSig for the past 100 years? To your last three questions, I'll bring it into something everyone can identify with right now.
Ferguson. (This is not a pro or anti Ferguson rant, just an example). Everybody has been asking why the Police force is almost all white when the population is mostly black? Is it because the police chief only wants whites or more than likely most of the applicants have been white and the chief needs to hire those that show up.
