The week before Christmas, one of their helicopters flew by about 40 stories up with the side door open and one of them in a Santa suit.

I saw two of the yesterday. I saw two last week on a Thursday. I go to NOLA once a week for work, but it was cool seeing the jets fly low like that. I love watching the planes take off at the airport, too.

Let me check the NOTAMs, there would have to be something listed if there was a movie stunt being filmed.

ETA - strange, no NOTAMS or TFRs of any kind.

That is talking about Ronny Lamarque and the Cessna pulling a banner that says "Believe" the OP mentioned Jet.

A jet even military is not supposed to just buzz office buildings without permission.

all NBG is (November Bravo Golf) the call sign for the Naval air station. Like Mike Sierra Yankee would be Armstrong international and November Echo Whiskey would be lakefront airport.

A NOTAM is a notice put out for pilots that warns of restrictions in the area. It's also a great way of getting advanced warning for presidential visits.

I am fully aware of this. It just is not the best way to find out why a "jet" is buzzing a building..

One thing that pisses me off about planes is the fuel prices.

Jet-A is basically Diesel Fuel and 100LL (low Lead) is basically the gas that was available for cars prior to 1980. I never got the high prices for the fuels. All piston planes can easily run on ethanol free unleaded, but they don't let you use it without getting a sign off.

(just saw this when I was at KNEW's website)

Generally when they are filming a movie that involves planes you will have a TFR issued so that way some dope in a Beechcraft doesn't ruing an expensive movie shoot.
I know there is an airbase nearby, but others mentioned what sounds like a movie shoot.
