Lafayette has quite a few, the Landry's being probably the most well known.

What's the story with that? I tried to find a link, but had no luck.

I think the messy divorce, mysterious fire, etc. surrounding the Pat's of Henderson/Pat's Fisherman's Wharf was pretty entertaining!

I don't know enough to give you a good story. It all happened before my time. I got to both, but the Hut is near my house, so I go there more often.
I do know a couple of the Guilbeau's, though, and many sided with the twins, for whom they have continued to work.
My family was the source of a pretty well-known feud, so I'm not really into gossiping about such things. I kinda know how it feels.

The first generation will do whatever is necessary to survive/succeed and sweat bleed and cry side by side. Fighting tooth and nail and depending on each other for survival/success.
The second generation comes up without their backs being up against the wall but still remembers the struggle and knows they still need each other somewhat...
The third generation thinks succes is an entitlement....need I say more?

Pretty much any family owned restaurant that is between 2nd and 3rd generation ownership. You see it a lot with a good number of businesses.
I seen it firsthand with my family's company. My parents built up the company to 25-30 million in annual sales and my two older brothers couldn't keep it together.
Family businesses are tough to run and maintain.

Didn't Sammy's dad have that business before him. That bakery was open back in the 60s.

There is a story behind "not your mamas" on 190. I know there is something there.

Nothing really compares to the Brennan's. That feud is toxic.

Start a flying thread.
Anything would be better than this.

It's interesting to say the least.

What about Chalet Brandt at Bocage or the original Village where The Academy Sports is on Airline.
I think they both imploded.

The two sides of that family have trouble getting along with each other, much less the entire restaurant community lol.

What's the deal with the Tony's Seafood & Pocorello's families?

Isn't there a Deangelo's family story?

I wish someone would elaborate on this.
