You must be confusing me with someone else.

Yeah, I would guess that half of my friends from law school got out of the profession within ten years. There is good money if you are top 10% or daddy has a firm.
I have a pretty good gig and even I generally hate it. I am envious of maybe one guy in the profession. He does patent work. Other than that, I would not recommend a profession to anyone when most days your boss, client, secretary, opposing counsel, and the judge all hate you. Every time my office does interviews, I see kids a year out of school begging for a 60-70k job.

Dumb question but for people already with jobs, does this entail a raise?

My friend does patent work and he loves his job. I envy him too.

I would like to welcome you all to the profession with the highest percentage of drug/alcohol abuse, depression, anxiety, and 2nd in suicide.
I am willing to bet you all had several lawyers tell you "don't be a lawyer." But your self-importance told you that you are better than those losers. Enjoy living your life in 6 minute intervals.
Assholes.

This is what I'm seeing too. You might as well be an x-ray tech or go into billing/coding.

No. When we hire a new lawyer waiting on bar results, it is usually conditioned upon them passing the bar. I doubt we would fire somebody who did not pass (i.e., we would probably give them a second chance in Feb), but that has never happened to my knowledge.

You sound like a lawyer.

Every time I see an old lawyer they always tell me I should get out while I'm still young.

Great, another 393 attorneys in this state. None of which know shite and think they'll make 100k. It's fun watching these fricks beg for 30k government jobs. Law students are so delusional.

Does Stone Pigman even take people straight out of law school?

We heard you the first time, and no one gave a shite then either.

Carpetbaggers from East Coast schools, mostly.
Posted on 10/9/15 at 10:20 am to REG861
I don't work at Stone Pigman. I am in a small law firm by most big city standards (16 attorneys). We have only hired 3 baby lawyers in the last 5 years.
