Then throw in the fact that if you get licensed in Louisiana, you can only practice in Louisiana, unless you focus on a secondary area of study in law school.

You can be licensed in Louisiana and any other states you want, regardless of what classes you took in law school. I know lots of lawyers admitted in Louisiana and other states. I am licensed in Louisiana and DC myself, and I took a normal course curriculum in law school at LSU.

My tip, take the bar in another state.

That I wouldn't know. I took the Louisiana Bar. Many states require you to take their bar to get licensed there (or sometimes just parts of it if you are already licensed somewhere else), but that's regardless of where you went to law school or where else you're licensed. There is a multi-state bar exam that I've heard of (but never took), but I don't know how many states accept that by itself.

So did the people who graduated in May take this one, or will they wait until February? I looked and expected to see someone I know on there, but either he didn't pass or he hasn't taken it yet.

Usually if you graduate in May you take the exam in July. These results are for the July exam.
