Is there still a huge enrollment for law school? Has the tuition fees decreased?
Nowadays, especially in Louisiana, i don't see how the law school racket can keep going. Starting salary for lawyers nowadays is about 55k. You incur close to $100k in loans to maybe, and i mean maybe, get a job as an actual lawyer, and you are lucky if you get $55k. Is the law school still pushing the myth of people making 90-100k straight out of law school?
The sad fact is that the law field is heavily oversaturated, and has been for about 2 decades now. Then throw in the fact that if you get licensed in Louisiana, you can only practice in Louisiana, unless you focus on a secondary area of study in law school. Then couple that with the ridiculous number of law schools in our state, and it leads to oversaturation of the market.
Hate to be the killjoy for some here. Hope you guys do well. My tip, take the bar in another state.
