Gotta love all the non-lawyers thinking it's 2010 and throwing out the over-saturated market comments. The market is currently as it is largely because baby boomer age attorneys refuse to retire. Also, admissions numbers show the market is correcting itself, I know LSU classes are down like 25% or something

It's certainly not the norm, but it's also not a myth. There are people making a lot more than that their first year out as well.
