Sorry my days are running together. Bottom line is I see zero improvement.

10% of positive cases need ventilation according to LDH website as of yesterday.
And they have identified 8 different nursing homes or assisted living areas with clusters.

At 50% bed availability (~30% in Orleans)
GNO has about 350 available ventilators with at least 300 more on the way. (State has about 2750)

The stats are a lie. Terrebonne has three deaths that I know of. They're only reporting one.

I said we are peaking in real time. Yes it was ramping up 4 or 5 days ago as today’s data suggests and will continue to do so for a while.

Why are y'all downvoting? You don't want to hear the truth?

Not up to date is not a lie.

I don’t know if we’re necessarily peaking, but these numbers are likely from cases tested 2-5 days ago. The real numbers are a mystery.

It's days not up to date. Keep living with your head in the mud.

So you are saying we are hiding deaths and in other threads poster claims we are padding the deaths
I love the OT

Well yeah. I don't think anyone doubts there are lags in the data. Some times it takes for tests to be returned, maybe even an autopsy.
At the speed this is going realtime numbers to the public would be hard to pull off.

Definitely the number of positive tests would seem to be just a drop in the bucket to actual people who have it.
Maybe 5%, if that many?
I say that based on anecdotal evidence but I know around 12 people now in NY who almost 100% have it (either moderate or sick as hell) and only one of them has been tested. Just told to stay at home, rest, treat it over the counter.

geauxmedic, i’ve also seen some other medical folks from La. say similar things online (Facebook)

which 21,846 were negative....
I'm assuming that doesn't necessarily represent 21,846 people with negative tests. Don't you need 2 negatives to be consider cured?

There is no current test to know if you have already had covid.
So a negative test just means it isn't present.
People who took the test because they were exposed to someone positive could have never caught it, or could have had covid and recovered.

I wonder what the qualifications are for testing. It seems in most states that having fever and sob is not enough. People are being turned away from the test for “not being sick enough”. If that’s the case in Louisiana, then that has to be factored into the numbers.

There is no sugarcoating this for Louisiana. Louisiana's results are abysmal.
Now, maybe our unique challenges are a factor(similar problems as New York, but perhaps quite not so concentrated), and we must conclude that Mardi Gras must have played some role, but however much I think the overall reaction to this virus, nationally, is an overreaction, I don't get paid to make that decision and Louisiana (and NY) clearly underreacted/reacted too late (same difference).
We can't say that about Washington State and California because they sort of got hit out of the blue.
