Looking to move from Metairie to the North shore. Any advice on specific areas to land at?

I'm planning to buy land/build a house in Mandeville or Covington. I work in the oil field and my wife works from home so traffic/ commute is not really an issue to avoid. We are both late 20's and expect to have kids within a few years. Can anyone here point me in a solid direction of where to look and where to avoid?

Do you want insane amounts of traffic or just a good bit of traffic?

Look farther north. Look to that brightest star of them all.

Bawcomville or bust baw

land included I think we would end up some where between 450k and 600k. traffic is not a concern at all. Would like to be 5 to 15 minutes from most stores and things to do (restaurants/ happy hour chill spot/ spots bars). Also would like to have a solid chunk of land. (half acre or more)

The best part of the north shore is old mandeville. You will have to give up the half acre and build your own home dream but buy yourself a golf cart and live the dream

You come to the OT Lounge with that piece of information because you enjoy getting ridiculed?

You need to come drive around at 5 PM and see if you are 5 minutes from anything, much less most stores.
