No they don't. Policy isn't law. The constitution states otherwise.

If he calls what they did an "assault", then he is truly a pussy.

Then the law is pussy.

Remember, your feelings, mine or anyone else's isn't in the constitution.

I know some don't like him, but he shows just how tyrant the police are. If they will treat you like this over a camera in a public place over a filming, just think how bad they are in other settings. Covid is another example of when given the opportunity to do the right thing, most didn't. I used to trust cops to a fault but not anymore. If shite really hit the fan the majority would not be on our side.

Cops follow all unconstitutional orders bc their oath is to their pension, not the constitution

A bunch of way-lefties sure showed up in this thread.

I’m as far right as it gets and I despise big brother tyranny. The lefties love a fascist government and the right loves exercising freedom.

This is dumb. I agree most cops are dicks, but i'm not going around purposely pissing them off. This guy is a prick.

That is precisely the problem. Why are cops pissed off over citizens exercising their rights?

Why? I mean step back and look at the bigger picture here.

- You have cameras on you 24/7 without your approval
- Show me your papers/ID whenever I say give them to me
- You can't be here in a public space recording because it makes me feel uncomfortable.

I could go on and on but you get my point here. When does it stop? When do we quit enforcing policy or feelings and just enforce law?

It's like some of you can't see it. Your hating the person making the videos. Your not hating law enforcement, public officials, security that can't simply obey or enforce laws.

But a troublesome excerpt is where the term “Media” is defined. It’s totally subjective and ripe for abuse by enforcers of the law.

E. 'Media' means legitimate news gathering and reporting agencies and their representatives.

I agree that’s a pretty subjective definition. However, I’m not convinced this guy falls into the grey area. We aren’t talking about an independent reporter (i.e. Kiran) who is gathering news - reporting on a trial, for example. Filming the way others react to your actions is not the same thing IMO.

Being a pos isn't against the law. Wanted him to be arrested for that is tyranny.

I think the cop inside the court house handled it pretty well actually. He wasn’t tyrannical he politely asked the guy to leave. He was following his marching orders I don’t think he was power tripping at all.

Now if that was right or wrong by the law I’m sure the camera guy has them on some technicality but I’m sure if they dig into it the Louisiana state lawyers could find something to back themselves up and or find something camera guy did wrong.

Which is why, no matter how you feel personally about people like him, it’s important to have people willing to call out the governments bullshite. The government consistently uses grey areas to jam people up.. the very point of our constitution is to limit the governments ability to interfere with our daily lives.

Why are you ok with the government constantly filming you but some random dude is the next osama bin Laden.

Violating someone's 1st amendment right is the definition of tyranny & is not a technicality. It is against federal law.

Like I've stated before, they are law enforcement officers, not policy and/or feelings enforcement officers. The very first thing LEO does is take an oath to uphold the constitution. They didn't do that here and it will cost them. Well, it'll cost the tax payers.

US Commission on Civil Rights

Federal criminal civil rights law prohibits law enforcement agents from depriving rights under color of law, or to interfere with the free exercise of your civil rights

Some of you need to educate yourselves.

Rights, if you don't use them, you could lose them.
