While these places seem nice, I think we are more of a suburb(nice two story house with yard) type

Sounds like you'd prefer Williamson County. I'm a realtor here. What's your budget? That'll help

That's a tough number for Franklin or Brentwood, Spring Hill would get you more bang for buck. You could get a smaller older home or a townhouse in Franklin for that.

Just for some perspective, in Will. Co. Taxes & insurance on 250k would be around 2k a year if not in flood zone. Also no state income tax.

What would it take for a house in Franklin/Brentwood? pp/sqft?

Depends on the community.

250k - 300k in Franklin and communities like Fieldstone Farms, Franklin Green, Forest Crossing, Temple Hills, & Cottonwood are great n'hoods

350k - 400k in Brentwood Southern Woods, Bridgeton Park, & Stonehenge come to mind.

McKay's Mill in Cool Springs will put you in low 300's in Franklin and be very convenient to work.

It's smart. Price the value of real estate high, get a better clientele, save them $ on the back end. Business then want to flock to that area, profit.

Bellevue

Awesome location. Perfect for a couple that is you and your wife's age. You won't regret it. I lived in B'vue for a few years and absolutely loved it. Exploring the idea of returning in the next couple years.

Williamson County... Dont do it. Resist the temptation to live in the same damn cookie cutter neighborhood BS that is littered across that area.

Just kidding. It is a nice area to raise a family. I'm from Sumner County. Don't move there either.

my company has an office in cool springs and that is one of the places that I wouldn't mind living for a time during my career...very nice and clean area, but it is a little pricey...

Bellevue in Harpeth Valley Elementary school district is a good buy. Otherwise I'd disagree.

Now if IKEA or another use entity comes to Bellevue Mall, that may revitalize other areas in Bellevue

Big thing to look at is if/when kids are in play. Germantown/Sylvan Park/Hillsboro are all great. The problem is Davidson County schools. We moved here with 2 kids not yet school age. My wife was all about Brentwood, but after a lot of time and research, and a year renting to get a lay of the land, we landed in Mt. Juliet. Dollar goes a little further with a larger lots. Don't regret it.

It is a saturated nursing market so just keep that in mind. There are jobs, but the pay may be a little lower than other markets.

Nashville is awesome though.

I love. Mt Juliet, especially the Providence area. I've put many happy clients there. But if he commuting to Cool Springs, 440 is brutal unless he has off hour commute. No way in hell would I make that commute. That's why I go Spring Hill if he's trying to get more house for his dollar vs Franklin or Brentwood.

Well in their big fancy hotel, the main room is dedicated to Louisiana culture, so what does that say?

I don't understand why when you have all that history with Country music, you don't make that the feature point of your hotel.

Please stay away from Franklin, there is already too much traffic.

But in all honesty, Frankin is fantastic. I have lived here for about 5 years now and absolutly love it. I grew up near NO and I would never ever even consider moving back there. Nashville beats the hell out of NO. For 250k you may have to go a little further south to Spring Hill. Your commute to Cool Springs wouldn't be too bad, although right now there is alot of interstate construction on 65 and the traffic can be terrible.

Kids or no kids?

If kids, Franklin/Brentwood/Mt. Juliet

If no kids, East Nashville or 12 South
