Can you please answer the question of why there are 8 switches?

there are shims that are made to install behind the switches to offset them outward
That tile is probably about 1/2" plus the bullnose which sticks out even further.

get two triple gang covers, top one install normally, bottom one trim to fit in that space.

The 3 way rocker controls a heater/vent/light. The others for lights throughout the bathroom. I've got a different electrician coming out to see what we can condense down and then I'll tackle fixing the tile.

That's what I'd do. Try to get everything into that top 3-gang or turn the top 3-gang into a 4, get rid of the bottom box altogether, cover the hole, and get the tile run all the way across.

1. Hopefully you didn't pay this "electrician".
2. No way in hell you NEED that many switches in a bathroom.
3. If you do need all these switches can you move to another wall?
4. Why did you let that shite arse installation get this far?

No shite? The light switches in your bathroom control lights in your bathroom?
I mean, this is the OT, so I guess your 1000 sq foot bathroom needs 6 light switches. I have 12 total switches in my whole house. You have 6 in 1 room!
Correction, 5 + 3

Exactly. Most bathrooms have a 4 gang
Heat
Vent
Main light
Vanity light.
That's it

Yes, it looks like the best solution here is to condense down and then tackle the tile. Thank you for those of you that helped.

Wtf do all those switches do? Are you trying to launch a space shuttle or take dump?
Posted on 12/2/15 at 1:05 pm to nolanola
That's a serious clusterfrick.

Yeah. It's a long story. Cheap labor = cheap results.

What's with the Sheetrock they cut out around the corner from the switch? That's some shitty craftsmanship.

Why do you need so many switches?
Regardless, it looks like those switches can be moved over due to the slotted hole where the screws are. One thing you can do is get them positioned so that the cover plate for the bottom one butts up against the tile.
If you know someone who has a little talent working with wood, I'd see about getting a custom wooden panel made.

They hang the board first then run a Rotozip around the outside of the box. Usually in a big arse hurry and par for the course these days. Switch plate will cover anyway.

Are you in NOLA? If so, share the name of the electrician that installed these, may be a customer of mine and I would really like the laugh at him next time I see him
