Learned something new today watching National Geographic...
...or something like that.Trafficking Butterflies,especially protected or endangered ones is big money at bug shows.They're dead,behind glass.They showed one that fetched $12,000.

Extreme Smuggling on Discovery. I saw the same show. They were smuggling baby komodo dragons in luggage, one dude even had baby leopards.

My dad smuggled a salt water croc from Thailand 30 years ago.
I don't tell the story because most folks would think it a lie.

yea saw that this morning. never really thought about butterflys being sold to the point of extinction. They were saying that the one guy collected so many of that one butterfly from the grand canyon that he nearly wiped that entire species. took 10 years to get the population back up.
