Like how LA was strongly "encouraged" to raise the drinking age to 21 or lose federal money?

Well if a majority wants something, it must be right. I mean, it's not that big of a deal so let's just give up the little bit of control we have left.

Many times the outdoor smoking patios at the bars are the better/more popular spots to be at anyways.
Ah yes, the patio exception. Great for Louisiana summers and New England winters, amirite?

I'm all for offering tax incentives for establishments going smoke-free. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Cigarettes are already taxed as a "sin tax" so maybe allowing smoking (or gambling) could be as well.

She should focus on being spoon-free first.

Because I would not like my car to be hit by your human missle self because you were too trashy to not wear a seatbelt and have now flown through the windshield.

Yep. They deserve to be ticketed by those super safe cops who are riding motorcycles.

It definitely shouldn't be a ticket (or at least an expensive one). It's an extremely petty "crime" don't get me wrong. The worst is the driver being ticketed for some jackass not wearing a seatbelt in the backseat.

The police could just pull over and strongly encourage the driver to buckle the frick up, but that'd be way too close to "protecting and serving" for the cop to handle.

This!

I understand if you are older and you've been smoking since all the tobacco companies convinced everyone it was healthy to smoke. I still think you should at least try to quit though.

It's all of the 18-25 year olds I see that start smoking today that truly baffle me.

LA(and the South in general) is just a heavy smoking area. I never realized how many people still smoke there until I left. Don't get me wrong...people smoke everywhere...but seems to be much more noticeable/prevalent down South.

1. Their trashy parents did it in the house
2. They pretend there are no other means to deal with "stress"
3. They think it looks cool. Honestly it does.

Smokers are generally pathetic creatures. Huddling outside in the cold and sleet just to get a few puffs to feed their addiction. I hate and pity them at the same time.
