frick business. I can't take my business elsewhere. The world revolves around me. Won't the government help save us from ourselves? Think of the children.

but I don't think the government should tell a private business what they can and can't allow
Ehhh, that isnt exactly correct. There are many laws that are forced upon private businesses. Murder, stealing, etc are not allowed in private businesses. I am not comparing smoking to those things but smoking does affect others negatively. I dont think it is necessarily that big of a big brother govt leap to ban it

You are ok with the govt to not allow assault and theft inside private businesses. Why not being ok for the govt potentially banning people breathing in smoke they dont want to?

Come to my bar on Canal, we allow rape, murder, theft, etc. Freedom

I am clearly being devils advocate but I believe the argument holds some weight

You're a joke. People have the option to not visit a bar. People don't choose whether or not someone murders them or steals from them. You're analogy is terrible. Do you even consent, bro?

Neither of those things involve knowledge/consent. You know as soon as you enter a business whether or not it allows smoking, and you can make a choice to go elsewhere.

What if the bar put a sign saying murder/theft legal in here?

Nobody is more obnoxious than an ex-smoker turned anti-smoking zealot.

if the business posted a sign saying "you will be assaulted and robbed when you enter here"

I would be 100% ok with that being legal

As am I! Do it all you want where it only affects you, though. Stink up your house, your car, whatever. Hell I believe in a lot of freedoms that only affect the person doing them. But public smoking indoors is a nuisance, and a trashy one at that.

Well there you go, a non hypocritical man. I am not for banning smoking I am just pointing out we have many laws that have already infringed on private business that people dont give a shite about
