Never used it, but from what I understand it's similar to Patreon with the difference being OF allows explicit content.
The explicit content gives OF its reputation which deters mainstream content producers from publishing there (although I did hear once about a dude whose OF site is people paying to insult him).

This excuse is such a cop out. You could have done a lot of other things but this fit your base instincts the best and it requires no work and you get attention you wanted anyways.
