Wait, wait, wait...are you telling me that stupid hippies were in the trees and the guys removing the trees ACTUALLY decided to remove the trees with the stupid hippies in them?

Please tell me this is the earth I live on!

A police officer -- possibly an Orleans Parish Sheriff's deputy -- assigned to keep watch over Boover

Boover may have broken his nose and injured his foot and knee in the fall. He had been running low on supplies, witnesses said, and was likely weak from hunger when he flipped out of his hammock perched midway up the tree. A police officer -- possibly an Orleans Parish Sheriff's deputy -- assigned to keep watch over Boover quickly rushed to his aid, witnesses said. The sheriff's office had obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of disturbing the peace and criminal trespassing.

These people are so stupid. They have no clue that before Katrina there was a golf course there. I'm all for transplanted moving here but be informed before doing stupid shite.

I have heard so many people tell me that the nature trails need to be saved. No one realizes that these "trails" are cart paths.

Before it was a golf course it was a backwater swamp. What something was is not always what it should be.

Rather than rehash my posts, refer here for my opinion on the matter.

A small crowd of sympathizers opposed to construction who gathered outside the fence to that lines complained that spotlights had been used to force the last protester from the tree.

I disagree with you on this Bottom. You want to play with wild life there are plenty of places to do so in the metro area. Further more the amount of space this course will take up is not even close to the size area the courses consumed pre Katrina. The city could really use a course of this caliber. It's a win win IMO.

The last time I was out there was last September.

That's cool. I know my opinion isn't popular. And for the record, I'm not for it staying "wild" either, rather I think it should be designed to allow for more than one program.

i know a there few high schools and NORD would like to have more fields. There is def a lack of green space in the city when it comes to football, baseball and soccer fields.

Any thoughts of what these programs could be?

This. It'd be nice to have a (more) legit course on this end of town.
