Took a job in Denver and will be relocating from KC. I am thinking I just don't get paid for those two days. What, if anything, can I do?

Should I try to change leaving and starting dates or is that considered bad practice?

IMO, should have planned it out a little better. I'm sure your old job will know what you are wanting to do if you change it at this date.

If I were either employer I would tell him to get bent if he thought I would pay him a holiday as his first or last days on the job.

See if you can change them to where they over lap for a few days so you can get paid twice.
