Took a job in Denver and will be relocating from KC. I am thinking I just don't get paid for those two days. What, if anything, can I do?

Not if you work for 13SaintTiger.

Should I try to change leaving and starting dates or is that considered bad practice?

being pissy and fretting over whether you might lose two days pay?

IMO, should have planned it out a little better. I'm sure your old job will know what you are wanting to do if you change it at this date.

Good at what he does, which is obviously not managing money

Chalk it up as a lesson learned.

If I were either employer I would tell him to get bent if he thought I would pay him a holiday as his first or last days on the job.

See if you can change them to where they over lap for a few days so you can get paid twice.
