I swear...this country is under severe threat by pussyfooting SJWs. This dude should be given 100 lashes to his eye...

News Story

quote:

The suit was filed on Tuesday by Troy Tucker. He claims he “sustained a lacerated cornea with a vitreous detachment and all head, neck, eyes and vision were severely damaged” after being hit by a dinner roll during a visit in September of 2014.

Tucker is seeking $25,000 to cover his medical bills and legal fees. The restaurant’s “carelessness and negligence” as the lawsuit alleges has already caused expenses totaling $10,000.

quote:

Johnny Fugitt, of the River Front Times, points out that Tucker may not have much of a case considering that back in June, Slugger and the Kansas City Royals were deemed to have not been at fault after a thrown hot dog hit a man in the face and tore his retina.

Fugitt said in that case, the “baseball rule” was referenced, and that by voluntarily entering a baseball stadium the victim assumed some responsibility for personal awareness. He points out that “Home of Throwed Rolls” is posted all over, which could mean Lambert’s diners assume they are putting themselves at risk of being hit by a flying roll, upon entering the establishment.

Are rolls "throwed" at you for simply eating there or just when you walk in?

ain't no way a soft bread roll caused that much damage. We used to stop at the one in Foley Alabama back when we went to Gulf Shores a lot.

The rolls were the best thing about the place. You can want a roll, just put your hand up and say "roll" and someone throws you a roll. If you don't catch it, you are getting booed.

Reminds me of the guy that died trying to catch a shrimp at an hibachi restaurant.

Wow. What a pussy. We had dinner there when we were in Branson. No way you could sustain an injury unless they threw the whole freaking pan.

That's a 1 in a million chance of happening. For this to happen:
1. Roll must be thrown at his face - they don't do that, they toss it to you like slow pitch softball - and have enough velocity to cause damage
2. Guy must completely miss catching it or knocking it out of the way, therefore taking it directly to the face
3. Roll must directly hit his eye with full force, no deflections off the nose, eyebrow ridge, or cheekbones
4. Must suffer the laceration and vitreous attachment, and considering how often people get punched in the eye, get a black eye, but no serious injury, that's very uncommon

People seem to forget this nowadays. If you don't want to be possibly hit in the face by a roll, don't go somewhere that throws rolls.

You wave at the roll thrower to let them know you want one and they lob it to you. Sometimes from a foot away but some of them have pretty good aim and chunk them from 20 feet or so.
