Yes I am on the inside, that is why I implore everyone to allow the process to work itself out. This is my unit, my friends, their families deserve the respect and prayers. Thanks.

Prayers to you and your brothers and everyone else this tragedy is touching.

Okay, I'll squash this. With seats in, it's 15, max, unless there's some on board that are not secured by harnesses. With seats out, it depends on the troops configurations as to how many can fit.
One of the pilots was a dear friend of mine and I'm still trying to wrap my head around what happened. The accident investigation will take months as I'm sure by now a team of investigators has been dispatched from Fort Rucker, AL. The names haven't been released and I ask that those of you with info, please keep it to yourself until the official announcement has been made.
Louisiana, as well as the Marine Corp, has lost some great warriors and I pray for their families. I'm still holding on to a tiny shred of hope that some are found alive, but at this point, it's unlikely that happens.

I see the town talk one was posted already...Seemed pretty tasteless of them to do an immediate story

I agree to an extent. The family's minister was quoted in the story - my best guess is that the family had been notified at the time (and, I've drawn a pretty sad inference from that) and there might have been unofficial release of the name at that point.

My crew attended Trinity for a while, 7 or 8 years ago - I attended the funeral of the soldier's father at Trinity back in 2009. It is just very, very sad.

I've been doing a little looking on Fbook and I may know of the guys. It looks like he's in the unit, just don't know if he was involved. This is terrible.

I ASSUME: (1) the family was notified of the severity of the issue
(2) the sought council with the minister
(3) someone went to the media
(A) the pastor seemed to be in the spotlight

And that could be to draw attention and questions away from the family.

Hoychick is one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, BTW.

If you post initials I can tell you if it was one of the four from my source.
