Both places are quite boring. Düsseldorf can have hot women (primarily non German) at times, due to their fair and the German fashion industry.

There used to be a discoteque in Köln´s airport.

Yep. But you'd better be fit.

The cathedral itself is also a great tour. Incredible wood carving everywhere.

Only stopped off for a few hours in Köln on the way to the Rhine Valley from Amsterdam, but we enjoyed seeing the cathedral (which sits RIGHT outside the train station). Also stopped by the Roman gate that dates to 50 AD.

Food/drink-wise, we got lunch at Früh am Dom, which has an excellent kölsch. Food was pretty good too.

"That's odd, I seem to remember the cathedral was on the other side of the square."

Koln has great night life and a very good underground type club scene.

Dusseldorf is meh, you can hit up the bars but thats about it.

If FC Koln are playing I highly recommend checking that out.

Side thought. I've been in Berlin for the past couple days with the woman for the first time, and we are both pretty unimpressed. Is this city usually held in high regard by Americans?

Berlin is an awesome city. But if you came in with expectations of this super modern city then thats not Berlin.

Munich is out of our way but thinking of heading there, how much better is Munich than Cologne? We are flying out of Amsterdam so were trying to stay to west side but I am wanting to see Munich.
