It's the same thing that happened in Houston. Here just like Houston people are moving back into the urban areas.

IMO Houston, with some exceptions like Memorial & Garden Oaks etc, will be nice inside the loop and outside the beltway. But everything inside the beltway and outside the loop will be shite. Samething will happen here too.

Well, yeah, that's already occured in a lot of ways. The only areas between the loop and the belt that haven't gone to crap already is the area west of the loop, south of the katy freeway and north of westpark toll road, as well as a fringe west of the loop, north of the katy freeway for maybe a mile, and east of say bunker hill. So basically, Memorial/the villages, and a few other areas like Tanglewood.

Only problem with living in Kenner is that it's located in Kenner. Try again later.

What happened? Police dept went way south. Lakeside improved, taking away from Esplanade. 10-15 years of I-10 construction made commuting absolutely miserable - especially the commute from downtown back to NOLA. The adults that built and bought houses there in the 80s never left - but their kids did.

It's a pretty typical white flight story. As a suburb fills, the younger generation still wants new, so they move further out when it comes time for them to form households. As the older generations die off, they are replaced by poorer people, and over time, the entire place goes down.

My little block has four houses including mine that are now second generation. The parents moved the kids bought the houses.

My main thing that keeps me here is having a garage the size of a one story house. That's the main thing. I can have to cars in it and still have two full shop areas.

It's a shadetree mechanic's dream. Lol

Once I get an inground pool I'll never leave.

I'd choose Kenner along the Lake over many places in NOLA.

Anyone remember when the Esplanade mall was in its hey day and it was better than lakeside?

...Or when that little train actually used to function around the park in Kenner going under the old Zephyr remnants and that dark spooky water wheel house?

I can go on and on.

How about the bathrooms in the food court area ? That shite was kind of crazy having to walk down that long hallway behind restaurants.
