So apparently you know what restrictions this person had on said card. I am really not smart enough to figure any of this out, not afraid to say that, but I believe(know), there are many people out there abusing the system. If the system is used to keep your head above water then its doing its job IMO, if its allowing for steak dinners 3 times a week to me it isnt.
Yes, I understand how the card and the funds work...if people are eating steak 3 times a week, they will not have enough food stamps to cover the month. With the "cash" they receive, it only covers rent, utilities, household goods and such. Rarely is there enough left for cable and other finer things we all enjoy.

Nobody needs a chance to swim for their health. That's like saying people need free yoga instructions, you know, for their health.

You know exactly what this is intended to stop. I never even said I agree with it, but you just came straight out of the gates with the stupidity.

It's intended to stop people who supposedly don't have money to buy their own food to support their family from wasting that money going to the community pool for leisure.

Are you saying the only way to learn how to swim is to pay for it?

Yeah, it costs virtually nothing to maintain a pool.

Imagine how gross the public pools that the welfare people go to are though.

I'm already picturing some white trash fat women sitting on a deck chair drinking a bud she poured into her polar ice cup from Circle K and eating cheetos not paying attention while her toddler plays in the shallow end with a crappy diaper on about to explode from the weight of the pool water.

Where does he walk? Would he walk there if there wasn't sidewalks? Would he walk on a street in a dangerous neighborhood? Would he be able to get to a park (if applicable) without a vehicle?

I'm okay with some kids learning how to swim.

You know, physical activity could help improve the health of some of these folks.

Walking around the neighborhood is free.

Also, it's spelled "ScrongSafety"

One thing I miss about apt living is the access to a pool. They have public pools here that are supposed to actually be decent and low on the trash factor of people that go there, but I've never been to one.

But that is the image I always have of going to one...so I'm a lil nervous. Maybe this summer will be the year I check one out for myself.
