Port Vincent police will pass you going the opposite direction, maneuver to turn around and chase you at a high speed only to pull you over for an inspection sticker. The answer is inspection stickers are a money grab, plain and simple as that. It's not about the safety of your vehicle on the road.

Thank god we don't require inspection stickers in the city. We do need to have a brake tag though

If your inspection sticker is up to date and so is your registration then they have no PC to pull you over or search your car, however it's not unreasonable to stop you for 15 seconds and make sure your obeying the law.

If you're on government property then you follow government rules.

Wait, you don't feel safer with your new 2 year inspection sticker where you pay for the privilege of not getting your car inspected for 2 years?

I've morphed into mostly a Libertarian as I've gotten older (except for the open borders crap). I just want to be left alone. All crimes should have a victim.

it seems reasonable to me to assume most cars in both Nola and BR are either stolen or not up to date or do not have insurance

My vehicle is registered in Ascension parish so my inspection sticker costs twice as much (dumb fricking emissions test) and only last 1 year baw.

Personal liberty is protected by the 5th Amendment. Unless there is a curfew declaration under a state of emergency, I have the right to travel.

If you're on private property do you have to follow private rules?

Again there's no probable cause. Maybe the cops should come to your house and search it just to make sure that you are obeying all laws?

Inspection stickers are nothing but a money grab

Had a cop do the swing around and tail gate me last night driving thru Simsport. He had his bright lights on. Just looking for a reason to stop me. I will make a complaint today.

Private property is also government property if it's within the borders. Follow the rules.
