Soooo, I have jury duty on Monday. Of course they are shut down now so I can't call. Personally, I would rather avoid going considering what is going on. What would you do?

You don't have much of a choice pal.

Hide under your bed. They won't look for you there.

Go back in time and take care of it when you got notice.

Go unless you want an attachment out for your arrest, which is far more likely than anything else happening.

I had a room mate that threw away like 3 jury duty notices away over a 5 yr period (I only physically saw 1). It never came back to him that I know of. I still kinda keep up with him. The theory is that they can't prove it was delivered to correct address etc.
I'm 29 and I've never gotten a single jury duty notice. Of course I've lived at a ton of addresses in the last 5 yrs so maybe I did and never knew it.
Don't reference pendulum is you get arrested.

I'd show up ... if you don't they'll put out a bench warrant. Last time I was called for duty, the judge said "If you hear any of these names and know them and they're not here, you might want to call them ... they will have a bench warrant put out on them". Sure enough, I had to phone a friend.
Isn't there a number that you can call Sunday night to get a recorded message about case still being on??

I don't mind going. But I'm wondering what they plan on doing if a protest is supposed to go on outside the courthouse. It's my first time to be on duty, so not sure what to expext

Call the number early in the morning and if you can't get anyone or it wasn't cancelled, show up unless you want a warrant.

Not that I see on the letter. I've read it back and forth and gone to the website

Wife just sent me a screenshot that the courthouse was sent home early at noon today. The Judge stated that it was a concern for employee safety due to the protests around the building.
No idea what to do here

Try emailing them just asking if you will be notified if they are closed on Monday: JuryDuty@brgov.com
I was scheduled last year and had to have surgery on my wrist and emailed them all the info and was re-scheduled. They were pretty quick to answer. Maybe someone is monitoring emails from home, you know with a server in their bathroom
I really enjoyed jury duty. They do as much as they can to make it a pleasant experience.
