John got in 1/3 of the words and still won by simply saying less and letting Gary look stupid running in deflecting circles.

The moderator might get laid as he made some fans during his interjection of historical accuracy when Gary made shite up.

All you need to know is that Gary claimed the police force was created to capture slaves

Delgado said "that is completely wrong" and Gary said "Ok John, whatever"

Gary just doesn't care about facts unless it fits his narravtive, it's truly amazing

I went to John and Gary's page hoping to get a recap. Gary claims he was right about the white woman in Minneapolis by linking Shaun King. John just has the video, can't read the comments either unless you watch the video. Kinda sucks

Police is based on slave capturing in the south. Remember I said based on, not formed because of. The first police were in Boston around 1838, and they were formed because of overpopulation and rising industrialization, to protect goods and other commodities. Same reason down South, but slavery did have an impact on the formation of our police departments. Hes not totally wrong. He just has a very narrow minded view when its comes to slavery, and the moderator proved that.

It was as a pointless debate just like I assumed it would be. Chambers isn't a smart person or he is purposely dense and over simplifies. Delgado is a douche but he didn't come across bad in the short time I listened.

Any problems in the poor black community are white peoples fault. In a nutshell.

We need investment in poor areas. But when people invest they get robbed or burglarized. Send more police and the police are picking on the people in those poor areas.

There is no solution as long as the victim mentality prevails. The target will always move, the finish line moved. Clowns like chambers and his band of social justice warriors will continue to (attempt) to capitalize on it.

The best part was when the producer handed Gravy his fat arse on a silver platter. They took a break and the producer schooled Gravy and called him out for just making shite up.

John did well, and Gravy basically said everything you expected. He managed to hold in his racism for the most part until they reached the policing topics, then he went off the rails with stupidity.

Yeah I'm sure police in the south played a part in that. That wasn't what Gary was saying. He said they came into existence in America and were created to capture slaves. That's completely false

No police IN BOSTON until 1838? So, how does that work, was there no crime? Did everyone simply behave until 1838? Jayzus.

Sad part is his constituency/backers/supporters, completely agree with him and are equally and willfully ignorant just like that.

This is where I weep for our society, because others pick up on it and get their own bully pulpit.

In his defense, he might have a citation for what he said.
Wikipedia
quote:

Notably, the genesis of the modern police organization in the South is the "Slave patrol". [6][7]

Let's delve a bit deeper into the citations:
Citation #6
quote:

Platt, Tony (1982). Crime and punishment in the United States: Immediate and long-term reforms from a Marxist perspective. Social Justice/Global Options.

Maybe it's just me but I kinda tend to discount most studies/works from a Marxist perspective. Surprisingly often, they seem to demonize the current paradigm in favor of Marxism.

I know what some of you are thinking, "But what about citation #7 which is also cited for that nice tidbit of information?" Well citation #7 (Dr. Gary Potter's piece) cites #6.
quote:

In the Southern states the development of American policing followed a different path. The genesis of the modern police organization in the South is the "Slave Patrol" (Platt 1982).

I'm surprised Gravy hated facts.. I figured he would be welcoming and accepting of the facts to promote his cause
