He has a wife and 19 kids. No way that was all consensual

He didn't murder someone. I mean, we don't go to the cops every time a minor beats a kid up and that's assault. I think the overall reaction here is completely without perspective.

In the police report it says "A person had written a letter approximately 3 1/2 years ago".

The email from Harpo and the letter "accidentally" being found happened in the same week.

What really sucks is the sister's he did this to know have it shared with the world. They had probably put it behind them and moved on, and now it is thrown back in their face. Reporters and everyone will be hounding them for the scoop and details.

I doubt the Duggars believe in divorce, so I'm curious how Anna is dealing with all of this. I assume she had no idea her husband was a child molester.

If a 16 year old beats up a 5 year old, I think most reasonable people would go to the police.

In her statement she claims he told her 2 years before they were married.

Lets not forget that the age of consent is 16 in Arkansas.

That's the real travesty here. The irony is liberals, who always claim to be about the "victims," are going to be the ones who shove it in these girls faces.

So you think this should be a "slap on the wrist"? Nice troll bud.

Oh boy, you've found a way to make this political. This makes all the sense in the world.

So he was 14 when he molested his siblings? The parents fricked up big time

I wouldn't be surprised if he were molested either.

It's a very cultish family

If a 16 year old beat up his 5 year old sibling I highly doubt it. They would try to handle it themselves as a family and if it continued they'd go to the police.

The Duggers are creepy as frick, but the high horse attitude about not going to the police is hilarious. I'd be worried about other things like wtf else is going on in that wierd arse family.

not defending joshs actions in any way but people would be shocked if they knew how often stuff like this happens with minors. It happens much more often then people think. Unfortunately

Exactly. people on this site love to point at any Christian that makes mistakes and say "look! He's not perfect! How dare he!"

Any family regardless of faith is going to try to resolve the issue in house before going to the police.

How successful would this show be if it were a black family with 19 kids ( and counting )????

There are too many of those already. This is the first white family to do so in recent times therefore it is popular.

I think he's talking about the initial discovery. 14 yo gets caught playing doctor with his little sister. Dad sits him down and discusses the problem with this.

OK I can agree with that. If they were siblings, I doubt the parents call the cops.

That's exactly what I'm saying. I'm not real sure why people think that's an odd reaction for a family to have.

In any ordinary family I could understand this. But the Duggars are an entirely different story.

Why? As some other poster pointed out, this was 5 years before the TV show. What made them anything other than an "ordinary family" at that point in their lives?

I dont know what the cutoff age is, but I would think at 14 this should be seen as a bigger issue than playing doctor. at 14 I was trying to play doctor with people my own age
